Cookie & Tracking Policy
The cookies, SDKs and identifiers used on our website and in the app — and how to control them.
This policy explains the cookies, software development kits (SDKs) and similar identifiers used on the MyBeachApp website and in the mobile app, and how you can manage them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. Cookies, SDKs and identifiers
A cookie is a small file stored on your device by a website. Mobile apps do not use browser cookies in the same way; instead they use SDKs and local storage, and may access device or advertising identifiers. We treat all of these the same way for consent purposes: nothing non-essential is used without your consent, in line with the ePrivacy rules (Greek Law 3471/2006) and the GDPR.
2. Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Core functionality, security, load balancing, remembering your privacy choices and validating your ad-free purchase | Not required (exempt) |
| Functional | Remembering preferences such as language and units | Required where not strictly necessary |
| Analytics / diagnostics | Understanding crashes and aggregate usage to improve the app | Required |
| Advertising | Delivering ads and, if you consent, personalising and measuring them (Google AdMob) | Required |
3. Third-party SDKs and services
- Google AdMob — advertising delivery and measurement (advertising).
- RevenueCat — validating and restoring your ad-free purchase (strictly necessary).
- Diagnostics/crash reporting — reliability (analytics).
4. How we ask for and record consent
When you first use the app in the EEA/Greece, and on our website, we ask for your consent before setting or accessing anything that is not strictly necessary. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category. We record your choice and re-ask when required (for example, if purposes change or after a reasonable period).
5. How to manage your choices
- In the app: open Settings → Privacy to review or change your consent at any time.
- On iOS: control app tracking via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (App Tracking Transparency).
- On Android: reset or delete your advertising ID via Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- On the website: use the cookie banner or your browser settings to manage or delete cookies.
- Remove ads entirely: purchase the one-time ad-free upgrade to stop advertising SDKs from loading.
